The
Dave McMurdo
JAZZ ORCHESTRA

RECORDINGS
Next year, the 19 piece Dave McMurdo Jazz Orchestra will celebrate the 20th year of it’s crazy, precarious existence. Since 1989, we have recorded seven CDs.
With our latest release “Nimmons ’N’ More” we are taking a radically different approach to sales. Having seen the success enjoyed by Maria Schneider through the Internet via Artists Share, musically, critically (a Grammy for a recording that never appeared in a store) and financially, we are emulating her approach.
If you go to the button for Orchestra CDs on our home page you will find all of our releases are available, with short musicals excerpts to check out the music.– plus a non fussy approach to purchasing any of them.
Singles are $20, doubles are $25, The Portrait of Phil Nimmons which is three discs is $30 (all prices include sales tax) plus shipping and handling.
Every time we record I think that the project we are completing at that moment is our best yet – totally objective of course! – NOT. With that disclaimer, I’m absolutely positive that “Nimmons ‘N’ More” is an historic document of The DMJO at it’s finest, with great compositions by Mike Malone, Terry Promane, myself and a true jazz icon Phil Nimmons.
Personally, I am considering posting a blog like piece on our website on an irregular basis, expressing some of my thoughts about music and life in the fast lane! Any comments on this idea will be welcome.
